What can you expect from Homestay Accommodation?

Our Homestay accommodation service is an excellent way to experience English hospitality and to be fully immersed in British culture. Our priority is to make sure that all our students feel happy and comfortable during their time with us, and this starts with providing a welcoming Homestay family.

We have a large selection of Homestay providers, most of whom have worked with us for a long time. We ensure all our Homestay providers are sensitive to the different needs and cultural backgrounds of our students, and we always try to place students in the most suitable Homestay available.

Our Accommodation & Welfare Officer visits each of our Homestay providers regularly to make sure the homes are suitable for our students. We take into account age, nationality and personal preferences when placing students with hosts, and any requests made by students at the point of booking will be carefully considered.

If you have any medical conditions or special dietary needs, we must be notified at the time of booking. Please complete and return the medical information request form. A lot of our host families have dogs as pets. If you have an allergy to dogs we will ensure that your host does not have a dog. It is not always possible to provide pet free homes as a preference.

All our Homestays are situated either within walking distance of the school, or on a good bus route. With our Standard Homestay accommodation, students have a private bedroom and an appropriate place to study, either in the bedroom itself or elsewhere in the home. Towels and bedding are provided, as is a weekly laundry service.

Our Standard Homestay accommodation includes the use of a shared bathroom.  Our Executive Homestay accommodation includes a private bathroom.

Unless otherwise requested, we ensure that students with the same first language DO NOT stay with the same host family.

Students are provided with breakfast and evening meals during the week, with a light lunch included at the weekend. Hosts may supply a packed lunch, on request, for students who are going on an excursion at the weekend.  During the week, students are expected to buy their own lunch from one of the many sandwich shops, cafés and takeaways that are close to the school.

Students who are under 18 years old will be accommodated with one of our DBS approved Homestay families. The DBS is a criminal records check which we use to ensure that our Homestay providers are suitable to accommodate young people and vulnerable adults.
