A Step Back in Time...
On Saturday 16th October, one of our teachers took a group of students to Pickering, where the whole town was revisiting the time of the Second World War (1939-1945), with wartime signs, notices, sandbags and taped up windows. The streets were full of people wearing the clothes of 70 years ago, with many in military uniform, and a parade of military and veteran vehicles. The students particulaly enjoyed listening to street performers singing World War Two songs and watching people doing the Jitterbug in the street. They also had fun having their pictures taken with people dressed up in 1940s' clothes. It was certainly a day to remember!
